LTWA Programs
The mission of the Little Tennessee Watershed Association is to protect and restore the health of the waters of the Little Tennessee River and its tributaries through monitoring, education, habitat restoration and citizen action. The organization focuses on two major program areas: Water Quality and Water Quantity.
Program initiatives within the area of Water Quantity include interbasin transfer advocacy to protect our water from outside interests and localized water conservation programs. The Water Quality area boasts a number of initiatives including: a 22 year-old (and counting!) Biomonitoring Program, riparian habitat restoration activities, stormwater and land use. Embedded in each of these initiatives are goals for advocacy and general education with some education of targeted audiences as appropriate.
